1.- Who is responsible for processing your data?

The entity responsible for processing your personal data is the Department of Applied Biocatalysis Institute of Catalysis, Spanish National Research Council (hereinafter, «ICP-CSIC»), with address at Marie Curie, 2, 28049-Madrid-Spain.

This Privacy Policy regulates access and use of the Platform (hereinafter, the «Platform») that ICP-CSIC makes available to Internet users (hereinafter, the «Users») interested in the content (hereinafter, the «Content») offered by ICP-CSIC on it.

4.- Why is ICP-CSIC authorized to process your data?

The legal basis for ICP-CSIC to process User data required to answer the communications received from the users is his/her consent as per art. 6.1.a) of GDPR.

ICP-CSIC takes the protection of your privacy and personal data very seriously. For this reason, your personal data is stored securely and treated with the utmost care, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016, regarding the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free circulation of these data (the «General Data Protection Regulation» or «GDPR»).

5.- What are the purposes of processing your personal data?

The personal data collected by ICP-CSIC may be used for the following purposes, depending on the consent given in the corresponding registration form:

      – Answer the communications received from the users.

6.- Accuracy of data provided by Users

The User guarantees the accuracy of the personal data provided and undertakes to notify ICP-CSIC of any relevant changes to them. The User will be responsible, in any case, for the accuracy of the data provided.

Any modification or update of the data must be communicated to ICP-CSIC through the means of communication provided in this Privacy Policy.

7.- Data retention

The protection of the privacy and personal data of Users is very important to ICP-CSIC. Therefore, ICP-CSIC makes every effort to prevent the User’s data from being used improperly. Only authorized personnel have access to User data.

The personal data of the User will be kept as long as it is needed for the purposes of the processing for which they have been provided, as long as the User has not revoked their consent or requested the deletion of his/her data.

Subsequently, if necessary, ICP-CSIC will keep the information blocked for the legally established periods.

ICP-CSIC undertakes to comply with its obligation of secrecy and confidentiality of personal data in accordance with applicable law.

8.- User rights

Users have the right to:

(i) Access their personal data;

(ii) Request the correction of any inaccurate data;

(iii) Request the deletion of their data;

(iv) Request the limitation of the processing of their data;

(v) Object to the processing of their data;

(vi) Request the portability of their data.

(vii) Likewise, Users have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated data processing.

The communication addressed to ICP-CSIC must contain the following information:

• Name and surname of the User;

• Request specifying the request.

Without prejudice to any other administrative remedy or judicial action, the User has the right to file a complaint with a Supervisory Authority, especially in the Member State where they have their habitual residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement, if they consider that the processing of their personal data is not in compliance with the regulations, as well as if they are not satisfied with the exercise of their rights. The supervisory authority to which the complaint has been lodged will inform the complainant about the progress and outcome of the complaint.

9.- Data Security

The protection of the privacy and personal data of Users is very important to ICP-CSIC. Therefore, ICP-CSIC has taken all measures within its reach to prevent their data from being used improperly, allowing access only to authorized personnel.

ICP-CSIC maintains adequate security for the protection of personal data in accordance with applicable law and has established all technical means at its disposal to prevent loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorized access, and theft of data provided by the User through the Platform, without prejudice to informing you that security measures on the Internet are not impregnable.

ICP-CSIC undertakes to comply with the duty of secrecy and confidentiality regarding personal data in accordance with applicable law.

ICP-CSIC will not be responsible for damages and losses that may arise from the User’s breach of this obligation.

10.- Transfers and/or transfers to third parties

The User is informed that their personal data cannot be transferred to third national companies or entities. User data can only be used by ICP-CSIC for any use that serves to properly fulfill the purposes of the processing of personal data set out in point 4 of this Privacy Policy.
