1.- Right to information

We inform you that this Platform sysbio.csic.es along with all its subdomains (hereinafter, the «Platform») are owned by the Department of Applied Biocatalysis Institute of Catalysis, Spanish National Research Council (hereinafter, «ICP-CSIC») with registered address at Marie Curie, 2, 28049-Madrid-Spain

Access and/or use of the Platform confer the user status upon you.

2.- Use of the Platform

The User assumes responsibility for the use of the Platform. The Platform may provide access to a multitude of texts, graphics, drawings, designs, photographs, multimedia content, and information (hereinafter, «Content») owned by ICP-CSIC or third parties that the User may access.

The User must make appropriate use of the Content offered through the Platform, including, but not limited to, not using them to:

• Engage in illegal activities, actions contrary to good faith and public order.

• Cause damage to the physical and logical systems of ICP-CSIC’s Platform, its suppliers, or third parties.

• Introduce or spread computer viruses or any other physical or logical systems that may cause the aforementioned damages.

• Attempt to access, use, and/or manipulate the data of ICP-CSIC, collaborating third parties, and other users.

• Reproduce or copy, distribute, allow public access through any means of public communication, transform or modify the Content unless authorized by ICP-CSIC.

• Delete, hide, or manipulate the Content subject to intellectual or industrial property rights and other identifying data of such rights of ICP-CSIC or third parties incorporated into the Content, as well as technical protection devices or any information mechanisms that may be inserted into the Content.

ICP-CSIC has the right to investigate and report any of the mentioned behaviors in accordance with the law and to collaborate with authorities in the investigation of such actions.

ICP-CSIC may temporarily suspend, without prior notice, access to the Platform for maintenance, repair, update, or improvement operations.

3.- Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights over the content and graphic design of this Platform (including, but not limited to, images, sound, audio, video, software, or texts; trademarks or logos, color combinations, structure and design, selection of materials used, computer programs necessary for its operation, access, and use, etc.) are the exclusive property of ICP-CSIC or a third party who has authorized its use. Therefore, ICP-CSIC has the exclusive right to exploit such content and graphic design.

In this regard, in accordance with the provisions of the Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/1996, of April 12, approving the revised text of the Intellectual Property Law, and the Spanish Law 17/2001, of December 7, on Trademarks, as well as any other complementary legislation under the Spanish law regime on intellectual and industrial property, the reproduction, transmission, adaptation, translation, distribution, or public communication, including making available or any other form of commercial exploitation and/or modification of all or part of the content of the Platform, is prohibited without the prior and express authorization of ICP-CSIC.

ICP-CSIC does not grant any license or authorization to use any of its intellectual or industrial property rights or any other property or right related to the Platform and/or its Content.

The User undertakes to respect the intellectual and industrial property rights owned by ICP-CSIC. Reproduction and temporary storage of the contents of the Platform are allowed to the extent strictly necessary for the use and display of the Platform from a personal computer/tablet or phone.

The legitimacy of the intellectual or industrial property rights over the content provided by Users is the sole responsibility of the users, who will be liable to any claims by third parties arising from the illicit use of the Platform’s content.

4.- Data Protection

The use of this Platform may require Users to provide personal data. ICP-CSIC processes this type of information in accordance with applicable law and outlines it in its Privacy Policy.

5.- Liability and Guarantees

ICP-CSIC declares that it has taken all necessary measures, within its possibilities and taking into account the current state of technology, to enable the correct operation of the Platform and absence of viruses and harmful components on its Platform.

However, ICP-CSIC cannot be held responsible for:

(iii) Interruption of the operation of the Platform or computer failures, telephone breakdowns, disconnections, delays, or blocks caused by deficiencies or overloads in telephone lines, data centers, the Internet system, or other electronic systems, occurring during its operation;

(iv) The presence of viruses or other harmful components inserted by third parties;

(v) Any damage caused by third parties who violate or breach the security systems of ICP-CSIC.

ICP-CSIC may temporarily suspend, without prior notice, access to the Platform for maintenance, repair, update, or improvement operations. However, whenever circumstances allow, ICP-CSIC will communicate to the User, with sufficient advance notice, the planned date for the suspension.

ICP-CSIC is not responsible for the use that Users may make of the Content included in the Platform.

6.- Duration and Modification

This Legal Notice will be in effect indefinitely, and ICP-CSIC may make changes to the specified conditions, which will take effect from the moment of their publication.

7.- Hyperlinks

ICP-CSIC informs the user that, to its knowledge, the hyperlinks inserted in the Platform are not harmful, and their content is correct. However, since the control of these hyperlinks does not depend on ICP-CSIC, it cannot assume any responsibility for the consequences of accessing links to other applications or websites.

In this sense, ICP-CSIC is not responsible for the information contained in these third-party links or any effects that may arise from such information.

The inclusion of links to other websites or applications does not imply the approval of their content by ICP-CSIC or the existence of any kind of association between ICP-CSIC and their owners.

Consequently, the User accesses the Content and under the conditions of use that apply to them under their sole responsibility.

8.- Safeguard and Interpretation

This Legal Notice constitutes an agreement between each of the Users and ICP-CSIC.

If the competent authority declares a provision illegal, invalid, or unenforceable, such declaration regarding one or more clauses

ICP – CSIC failure to require strict compliance with any of the provisions of this Legal Notice does not constitute and shall not be construed in any way as a waiver by ICP- CSIC of its right to require strict compliance in the future
