Laura Fernández López

L. Fernandez-Lopez has a Grade in Biochemistry by the Complutense University of Madrid (2013-2017). Her research career started investigating in short stays (June-September 2015; July-September 2016) at the Institute of Catalysis, CSIC, under Prof. Fernandez-Lafuente supervision, working in the immobilization, stabilization and reactivation of enzymes. Afterwards she carried out her final degree project, at the Institute of Catalysis, CSIC, under the supervision of Dr. Cristina Otero. She further performed her Master Degree in Industrial and Environmental Biotechnology by the Complutense University of Madrid and her final master project was conducted at the at the Institute of Catalysis, CSIC, under Prof. Manuel Ferrer supervision, working in metagenomics and artificial metalo-proteins production (2017-2019). She carried out her PhD studies in the group of Prof. Manuel Ferrer at the Institute of Catalysis, CSIC, working in enzymology, covering all aspects from enzyme discovery through meta-genomics, to enzyme characterization, immobilization, and engineering. She run her pre-doc within the frame of the Spanish project PID2020-112758RB-I00 from the Ministerio de Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación and Agencia Estatal de Investigación (AEI) (Digital Object Identifier 10.13039/501100011033), which she defended on March 2024. Now she has a post-doc position in the SysBio group, where she continues her work on biocatalysis.
