Dr. Patricia Molina Espeja

P. Molina has a Degree in Biology from the University of Salamanca (2008). She has a Master’s degree in Microbiology from the Autonomous University of Madrid, UAM (2009), and a PhD in Biology from the same university (2016). For the last twelve years she worked in directed evolution of enzymes, field in which she developed her PhD research and postdoctoral period within Prof. Miguel Alcalde’s group at the Institute of Catalysis, CSIC. More specifically, she worked improving oxidoreductases for greener organic synthesis using Saccharomyces cerevisiae as driving force and in the frame of two European projects (Peroxicats-FP7-KBBE-2010-4-26537; INDOX-FP7-KBBE-2013-7-613549) and two national projects (EVOFACEL-Ref: BIO2010-19697; DEWRY-Ref: BIO2013-43407-R). In 2021 she joined the the group of Prof. Manuel Ferrer at the Institute of Catalysis, CSIC, where she is currently Project Manager of the European Union funded project “Technologies of the future for low-cost enzymes for environment-friendly products (FuturEnzyme)”.
