Aicha Hedda

Aicha Hedda holds a degree in Biological Engineering from the National Institute of Applied Science and Technology (INSAT – Carthage University, 2025), Tunisia. She is currently a predoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Manuel Ferrer at the Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry (ICP-CSIC) and enrolled in a doctoral program in Microbiology at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Her doctoral research (METAMIC3), within the MSCA Doctoral Networks (Horizon Europe), focuses on developing microbiome-based therapeutics to reduce multidrug-resistant infections in cancer patients using a One Health approach. It integrates multi-omics and bioinformatics tools to identify and validate beneficial gut microbiome functions that enhance immune responses and limit antibiotic resistance across human, environmental, and clinical interfaces. Her expertise in biological engineering includes microbiological techniques such as microbial isolation, culture-based identification, and biochemical characterization assays, as well as omics data analysis and bioinformatics-based interpretation.
